Plug valve is a closed piece or plunger-shaped rotary valve, by rotating 90 degrees to make the valve plug on the channel port and the valve body on the channel port connected or separated, to achieve the opening or closing of a valve.
Its plugs can be cylindrical or conical in shape. In cylindrical plugs, the channel is generally rectangular; in conical plugs, the channel is trapezoidal. These shapes make the plug valve lightweight. It is most suitable for use as a cut-off and switching medium and for shunting, but depending on the nature of the application and the corrosion resistance of the sealing surface, it may sometimes be used to throttle the flow. It is the ideal product with the advantage of deposit-free, anti-crystallization, anti-corrosion, and anti-high temperature and high pressure for pipe systems.
There are two typical types of plug valves, which are lubricated and non-lubricated. The seat is an integral part of the body in terms of lubricated plug valve. For non-lubricated plug valve, there will be lined and sleeved type, with a soft seal design to improve leakage tightness of the valve. Our plug valves are focus on non-lubricated sleeved types with reduced bore or full bore designs, typically applied for strong corrosive applications.
